It’s December already? Incredible! Are you the kind of person who switches on the Christmas spirit the day that the calendar turns over to December? There’s a lot of Christmas events in this week’s Radar, including the Santa Claus Parade!

Dance Studio West presents The Nutcracker

Dance Studio West is back on the Arts and Culture Centre stage with the Christmas classic! Catch all three performances!
Arts and Culture Centre. Friday and Saturday at 8pm, with matinee on Saturday at 2pm.

Royals VS Cataracts + Teddy Toss!

The Clarenville Cataracts are back in town to face off with the Royals and on Saturday night they’ll be hosting the Teddy toss! Bring along a Teddy Bear to throw onto the ice and they’ll make sure it finds a deserving home!
Pepsi Centre. Saturday at 7:30pm, Sunday at 2pm.

Nick Hamlyn and The Mayhem

Nick Hamlyn has a brand new band put together featuring Nick Hamlyn, Daniel Hiltz on bass, Fiddler Tom Brennan and Taylor French on drums! Catch them twice this weekend.
Whelan’s Gate. Friday and Saturday at 11pm. 19+.

Friday, December 2:

4 O’Clock Whistle Launch

The folks from the Occupy Corner Brook group have put together a new local print magazine and they’re launching it on Friday! All are welcome to drop down and check it out and pick up a copy!

LAWN Heart of Christmas Opening Reception

The members of the League of Artists of Western Newfoundland invite you to join them as they open their annual exhibition, HeART of Christmas. Food and refreshments will be served!
Arts and Culture Centre. 5 – 7pm. Free.

St. Andrews Day Celebrations

Celebrate Scottish heritage at the St. Andrews Day dinner and dance!
Bennett Hall. 6:30pm. $15.

VON Christmas Wreath Auction, Dinner and Dance

Check out the always popular Wreath Auction and a delicious dinner and dance, with all funds raised going to charity!

Allison Crowe’s Corner Brook Tidings

Allison’s Christmas show is becoming a tradition for many Corner Brookers! Check out the internationally acclaimed singer and get into the Christmas spirit! I also hear that they’re filming this performance for an upcoming documentary!

Saturday, December 3:

Corner Brook Santa Claus Parade

It’s that time of year again — the Santa Claus Parade! The parade gets started around 10am and follows University – O’Connell – West Valley – West – Main – Herald – Broadway – Mount Bernard and back up University.
City Wide. 10am.

United Church Christmas Craft Fair

All kinds of Christmas crafts! Plus, food! Chili! Great way to warm up after the parade!
Humber United Church, 88 Clarence Street. 11am – 4pm. $2 admission adults, children are free.

All Saints Church Christmas Craft and Bake Sale

Crafts! Snacks! Hot chocolate! Christmas goodies! You know how it is!
All Saints Church Hall, 44 Clarence Street. 12 – 2pm. 

Family Art Saturday: Christmas Card Printing Fun!

Our friends at the Grenfell Art Gallery are getting into the Christmas spirit at their Family Art Saturday by helping you make your own Christmas cards! It’s free and everything is supplied, but please bring a painting shirt!
Grenfell Art Gallery. 1 – 2:30pm. Free!

The Boys film premier

Ryan David Butt is ready to introduce you to The Boys, his new short film. Find out more about it (and watch the trailer!) here!

Off-Broadway Players Auditions

Off-Broadway has two shows coming up in the new year and they’re hoping you’d like to get involved! They’re looking for people for a Monty Python tribute show and a show called Hysteria. More information is available here.

Blow-Me-Down Volunteer Brush Cut

The cross country ski club is looking for some help cutting some new trails! Head up, meet some new people and have some fun while doing it!
