Students recognize Pink Shirt Day with video

Yesterday was Pink Shirt Day across Canada, a day which promotes an anti-bullying campaign (and asks you to wear a pink shirt in support).

As students across Corner Brook pulled on their pink shirts they were also making videos. Two groups of students from Corner Brook Regional High and a group of young students from Sacred Heart Elementary created videos to showcase their anti-bullying message.

First off, the groups from Corner Brook Regional High. Both of these videos take on a fairly serious message, but one that shouldn’t be ignored.

Anti-Bullying We can be the change (Jessica Penney , Andressa Dennison, Emily Chaisson, Jade Regular)

Bullying Awareness – Be The Change (Maike van Niekerk, Adam Payne and Emily Goss)

And finally, this was put together by students at Sacred Heart Elementary. Students from around the school put anti-bullying messages on cards and this was the result.

A fantastic job.  These students may never know how much their videos may help others but there should be no doubt, these students, through their actions and msgs, are helping.
Happy Education Week to all these students (and teachers)!
