Campus City Connect events start today!

September 5, 2012

Three big events under the banner of Campus City Connect are about to launch in the city, with the first event happening tonight! The trio of events are open to the entire community: a fun evening in Margaret Bowater Park tonight, a drive in movie tomorrow night, and a big (FREE) concert on Friday night (but you have to get your tickets today!).

Here’s the run-down of events:

Wednesday, September 5, 5 – 7pm: City Connections, Margaret Bowater Park

Free food and music from Nick Hamlyn at Margaret Bowater Park, plus loads of Corner Brook and area businesses present to talk about job and volunteer opportunities. Prizes and other fun stuff throughout the evening! Free!

Thursday, September 6, 8pm: Drive-in Movie Night: Marvel’s The Avengers, Pepsi Studio Parking Lot

With a huge blow up screen and big sound, head to the parking lot of the Pepsi Studio to check out Marvel’s The Avengers! You can bring your car, a lawn chair, or plunk down with a blanket and some cushions! Only cost is a small $2 donation, with all the money going to the 2016 Special Olympics committee!

Friday, September 7, 7pm: A Rockin’ Time, Pepsi Centre

I think nothing starts off the year better than a big concert, and this one looks to be pretty great and full of local flavour. Head to the Pepsi Centre to listen and dance dance dance to Andrew James O’Brien and The SearchersSherman Downey and The Silver Lining,The Navigators, and Goldwithy!

Tickets for this concert are FREE, and are only available TODAY (Wednesday, August 5) until 4pm! You have to pick them up at RBC on West Street, unless you’re a student, in which case you can get them from your school. They ask that you bring a non-perishable food item with you to the show.

So go! Pick up your tickets! See you all at the events!
