I’ve never seen so many people screaming so loud in Corner Brook. Ever.
Down With Webster made the crowd go nuts on Saturday night as they brought their rap/rock to the Pepsi Centre stage on Saturday night. Check out photos from the show below!
It’s worth noting that this show was brought in by Sure Fire Entertainment, and they have a string of other huge shows coming up in Corner Brook over the next few months, including:
- The Shining Wizards at The Palace September 22
- SLOAN at The Palace October 6
- Protest the Hero (ALL AGES) at The Palace October
- Faber Drive in December (details soon!)
This is on top of the other big shows in Corner Brook this fall (Wintersleep at The GCSU Backlot (win tickets here!), Paper Lions at the GCSU Backlot, Joel Plaskett at the Arts and Culture Centre).
On with the show at hand:
RocketRocketShip
Our pop/punk friends from St. John’s, RocketRocketShip, scored the opening spot for this show, making it their largest show to date (at least 2000 people in the crowd!).
Having seen these guys play a number of times in small venues, I was super impressed to see that they were able to easily transition their show to the much larger stage. They had no trouble bouncing all over the stage, and they quickly learned how to get the crowd going.
They also unveiled that Corner Brook native Jon Pike has joined the band as a vocalist, allowing them to get some wicked harmonies between Jon and guitarist/vocalist Paul Brake.
They blew through their short set, and left the crowd ready to go for Down With Webster. I should mention that the DJ/MC that they had on between sets and before the show, Juice, was really good. Juice knew how to get the crowd going and keep the energy high between sets. Awesome job.
Down with Webster took the stage by storm, blasting into some of their well known songs and had the crowd going crazy.
If you have a chance to see these guys live, do it. The energy from the band along is huge, but add in the energy from the crowd and you’ve got something powerful.
