Ever wanted to be Dorothy and travel through Oz to meet the wizard? Now’s your chance! The Off-Broadway Players will be presenting The Wizard of Oz as its fall musical production this year and is having open auditions this weekend.
Here’s the details from the Off-Broadway Players:
The Wizard of Oz tells a tale of little Dorothy Gale of Kansas, who dreams of what lies over the rainbow. One day a twister hits her farm and carries her away over the rainbow to another world. There she meets an eclectic cast of characters, including the Scarecrow, the Tinman, the Cowardly Lion, Munchkins and the Wicked Witch of the West.
The production will be directed by Jim Parsons, with musical direction by Gary Graham and choreography by Candice Pike.
Those auditioning for speaking roles need not prepare for this audition–it will be a open “cold reading” from various parts of the script. It’s fun and relaxed.
