It’s the end of February as we head into the final few days of Corner Brook Winter Carnival 2014! 

7:30 am to 10 am
Breakfast at the Legion

Royal Canadian Legion, 7 West Street. Breakfast includes: Eggs, ham, bacon, or sausage, pancakes, toast, tea or coffee. Cost $6.50 with button, $7.50 without button.

11:30 am to 1:30 pm
Baked Bean Luncheon

Bennett Hall, 11 West Street. Cost $6.00 per person. Lunch of homemade baked beans and wieners, dinner rolls, cookies, tea/coffee. Eat in or take out. Sponsored by Bennett Ladies Auxiliary.

Old Sam Day

Come celebrate the 51st Anniversary of the Old Sam Day tradition!  A day of fun races for skiers and boarders aged 19 to 100! Challenge your friends or cheer on the contestants, then get warmed up in the Knotty Pine Lounge with a snack and a mug of chocolate Sam. Everyone is welcome!  This event is organized by the Marble Mountain Ski and Ride Club and sponsored by the NLC’s Old Sam Rum.  Check for registration info! Registration 11am, Race 1pm.

Community Soup Kitchen

The Sonrise Ministries will be holding a Community Soup Kitchen. Cost is free and is open to whoever has an appetite. Located in the Church Basement at 29 Wellington Street . For more information please call Laurie Rogers at 634-2341

Jumbo Buffet

Jennifer’s, 48-50 Broadway. Buffet includes salad bar, hot entrées & dessert. Half price bar munchies starting at 4 pm. Live Entertainment w/ Brian Dicks. Call 632-7878.

Night Riding

Marble Mountain. Come out and play under the lights. Lift tickets are $24.

Hot Roast Beef Dinner & Men’s Beard Growing Contest

Elks Club, 9 Carmen Ave. Royal Purple will hold a Hot Roast Beef Dinner Cost $10.00 per person EAT IN ONLY. Tickets available by calling Jean Sceviour at 632-5404.  Beard Growing judging at 7:15pm.  To enter please call Sam at 639-9916. Beard Growing Contest  Sponsored by Coors Light

The Moonlighters

The Moonlighters perform at The Crown and Moose for an early evening show!

Family Snowshoe

Wetlands Trail, Brook Street Trail Entrance. Cost is free. You and your family will be guided through an easy paced snowshoe walk on a section of the Corner Brook Stream Trail. A fire in the woods will add to the fun with hot refreshments. Hosted by: Corner Brook Stream Trail Dev. Corp. & Cycle Solutions.

Winter Carnival Ceilidh

Bennett Hall, West Street. Cost $5.00. Scottish Music, Scottish Country dancing and refreshments. Come in out of the cold and enjoy a “Scottish Time”.  Sponsored by the Scottish Heritage Society of Western Newfoundland.

2014 RPM Last Gasp Noise Jam
