Andrew O’Brien nominated for ECMA!

Andrew James O’Brien, the once-kinda-of-Corner Brook now based in St. John’s singer/songwriter has been nominated for an East Coast Music Award! Congrats!

The East Coast Music Association announced their 2012 award nominated earlier today, with Andrew James O’Brien nominated for Pop Recording of the Year for his album Songs for Searchers.

Sherman Downey and The Ambiguous Case grab two ECMA nods

The East Coast Music Award nominations were announced earlier this morning in Charlottetown, PEI and local boys Sherman Downey and The Ambiguous Case picked up two nominations.

The Corner Brook based folk-rockers which are always a blast to dance along to were nominated for both Rising Star Recording of the Year and Group Recording of the Year for Honey For Bees.

Also up for Rising Star Recording of the Year are Boxer The HorseWould You Please, Carmel MikolIn My Bones, St. John’s based Jerry StampBloodwork, and Ryan MacGrathCooper Hatch Paris. Other nominees for Group Recording of the Year are Acres & Acres – All Nations, Boxer The Horse – Would You Please, Paper Lions – Trophies, Slowcoaster – The Darkest of Discos, The Once – The Once, Tim Chaisson and Morning Fold – Broken Hearted Beat, and Wintersleep – New Interiors
