
The East Coast Music Award nominations were announced earlier this morning in Charlottetown, PEI and local boys Sherman Downey and The Ambiguous Case picked up two nominations.
The Corner Brook based folk-rockers which are always a blast to dance along to were nominated for both Rising Star Recording of the Year and Group Recording of the Year for Honey For Bees.
Also up for Rising Star Recording of the Year are Boxer The Horse – Would You Please, Carmel Mikol – In My Bones, St. John’s based Jerry Stamp – Bloodwork, and Ryan MacGrath – Cooper Hatch Paris. Other nominees for Group Recording of the Year are Acres & Acres – All Nations, Boxer The Horse – Would You Please, Paper Lions – Trophies, Slowcoaster – The Darkest of Discos, The Once – The Once, Tim Chaisson and Morning Fold – Broken Hearted Beat, and Wintersleep – New Interiors
The ECMAs will take place in Charlottetown, PEI from April 13-17, with the awards being handed out at the gala on April 17. For a full list of nominees, check out ECMA.ca.
