The Brat Attack first came through Corner Brook in 2005. They came back through in 2006, and a few more times since then, bringing their Winnipeg-based brand of pop-punk rock to Corner Brook and across Newfoundland. However, if you saw them on Saturday night at The White Horse you might not have recognized them from the last time you saw them.

A record 50-ish young people packed into Brewed on Bernard on Wednesday evening for Open Stage for The Underage. The sorta-monthly open mic is aimed at giving young people a chance to try out the music, poetry, writing or whatever other performance they’ve been working on.
Earlier today, Sure Fire Entertainment announced that Steven Page will be playing in Corner Brook on June 8!
On a stop of their cross-provincial Arts and Culture Centre tour in Corner Brook last Wednesday, Sherman Downey and The Silver Lining let the audience in on some of the tracks on their upcoming album. Check out the video below of the new song Isadora Duncan.
Corner Brook-based Sherman Downey and The Silver Lining have been on the road for the past few months. They recently travelled to Toronto for Canadian Music Week. Bill Allan, the Silver Lining’s jack-of-all-instruments will be giving us some updates on their travel.
We have a nice van. A 1998 ambulance, actually. Not too shabby. There is something oddly comforting about traveling in an ambulance. Not that any of us in the band have the knowledge, training, or capacity to save one another in case of an emergency. But there is comfort in knowing that this machine has saved lives, and that maybe it could do so again in the right circumstances. Or maybe it’s just a sweet ride.
Take some West Coasters like Said the Whale and put them in a room full of East Coast love from 150 people, you have a recipe for a good show.
