St. Patrick’s Day with The Pogues

It wasn’t exactly The Pogues, but it was one of the next best things. St. Patrick’s Day brought out The Pogues Tribute to Whelan’s Gate, a band made up of a stellar line-up of Sherman Downey, Daniel Payne, Bill Allan, Jonny Payne, Neil Targett, Angie Payne, Andrew Ross and Paul Lockyer. If the long line outside The Gate means anything, it was the place to be on Saturday night.

During the Family Fun Day event at Margaret Bowater Park last Monday, part of Winter Carnival 2012, amid the snow sculptures, ice skating, and sliding, a young band took to the stage. Parametric featured Matthew Payne, James Butler, Elizabeth Keeping, Jamie Gruditch, and Taylor French and I, along with everyone else at the park, was incredibly impressed.
